Australian playwright Alex Buzo has died after a long illness, he was 62. Born in Sydney in 1944, he was educated at The Armidale School, the International School in Geneva and the University of New South Wales from which he graduated BA in 1965. He came to national attention in 1968 with his play Norm and Ahmed, though he is probably best known for his plays Rooted (1969), The Front Room Boys.
